Summer Sessions is open to everyone.
To register for Summer Sessions as a non-UW student at the Seattle campus, follow the steps below.
For details on how to register for Summer Sessions at other UW campuses, visit the UW Tacoma Nonmatriculated Students page or the UW Bothell Nonmatriculated Students page.
Step One: Find Your Class
Summer Sessions offers more than 1,000 courses to choose from. For help finding the course or courses that are right for you, see the Courses & Programs page.
Step Two: Apply to Summer Sessions
- Apply online using the Summer Sessions application.

Once your application has been processed, you'll receive an email with your student number, private access code (PAC) and registration instructions. The email will tell you how to set up a UW NetID, which allows you to access UW online services. You'll need a UW NetID to register.
Step Three: Register
- Know when you can register. About two weeks before registration opens, you can find your specific registration date and time on Register.UW. You can also refer to Key Dates & Deadlines.
- Once registration opens, use Register.UW to register online for your Summer Sessions courses. Have the SLN or course abbreviation and number handy.
- If you used MyPlan to plan your courses, find out how to import them into Register.UW.
